These Homemade French Fries are made with russet potatoes cut to size, covered in olive oil and seasoned with various herbs and spices. - russet potatoes
- olive oil
- chili powder
- dried basil
How to Make Homemade French Fries:
Scrub potatoes then cut the ends off and slice into long thin fries. Soak in cold water for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator and up to 24 hours.
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drain water and spread the fries out on paper towels to dry. Once dry coat with olive oil and spices. Spread in a single layer over the baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Notes & Tips
How to Store Homemade French Fries:
Store in the refrigerator for three to five days. Reheat in the oven on a baking sheet for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
Freeze in a ziplock bag for up to three months. Allow to thaw then reheat in the oven on a baking sheet for 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
Preheat your air fryer to 360 degrees, add in prepared french fries and cook for 20 minutes. Toss occasionally until crispy.
